Is your invoice higher than expected?

In most cases, a higher bill is due to usage or services not included in your plan.

🔍 Why is my bill higher?

Your plan includes a set allowance:

  • Calls
  • Texts
  • Data

⚠️ If you exceed these allowances, additional charges may apply. These charges relate to the activation of an option allowing you to continue using data, at a cost of up to €8.

📊 Where can I find these charges?

Additional charges appear in the “Communications” section of your bill.

📌 Examples of charges that may account for a higher bill:

  • SMS messages sent outside your plan (domestic or international)
  • Calls to international numbers or special numbers (e.g. 900)
  • Exceeding mobile data allowance or roaming
  • Purchases of services (e.g. bus tickets, digital content)
  • TV purchases (e.g. film rentals, VOD)

⚠️ Common issues to check:

A higher bill may also be due to:

  • Recent activation of a subscription or add-on
  • Change of plan during the month
  • One-off charges (set-up, cancellation, adjustment)
  • Unintentional usage outside your plan

📱 How can you check your usage?

You can track your usage at any time via:

  • The MyTango app
  • Your online customer portal

This allows you to quickly identify the source of any additional charges

💳 Understanding premium-rate texts and content and how to opt out:

In many cases, additional charges on your bill come from:

  • Calls from your mobile or landline
  • Texts
  • Internet browsing (data)
  • TV services / content purchases

Your subscription includes a set allowance of minutes, texts and data.

Once you exceed these allowances, or if you make a purchase (film rental, service, etc.), additional charges will appear on your bill.

📩 What is a premium-rate text message?

Several companies offer paid services via SMS or the internet, for example:

  • Games
  • Ringtones / images
  • Fortune-telling
  • City parking
  • Official documents (e.g. City of Luxembourg)

In these cases, the services are provided by third parties. They will be charged to your Tango bill once you have voluntarily signed up. Each SMS sent or received may be charged depending on the service.

🔁 Subscriptions and billing:

Some services are subscriptions, others are one-off services (competitions, content, etc.).

The price is communicated by the service provider (advertising, SMS, email, radio, TV, etc.).

For subscriptions:

  • A monthly SMS may remind you of the cost
  • You will receive information on how to unsubscribe

⚠️ Usage alerts:

Tango has set up a usage alert as soon as you reach €10/€20/€50 and €100 in charges for this type of service. This helps you avoid the surprise of a high bill.

These amounts correspond to the charges that will appear on your next Tango bill, but you can track your out-of-plan usage directly via the My Tango app.

🧾Which service am I signed up for and how do I unsubscribe?

You can always unsubscribe by following the procedure sent to you via text message directly by the service provider.

You can also visit the stopsms.lu website and enter your phone number.

Within a few minutes, you will receive a text message containing a personalised link to a page summarising the premium-rate services your line is subscribed to.

🚫 How do I block premium-rate content on my line?

You can permanently block premium-rate text messages and services on your line.

📱Via your MyTango application :

1. Log in to your MyTango application
2. Once on your home screen, click on the "Procedures" tab

1. Démarches EN.jpg
